What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Dry Run Church of Christ based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

1.… that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
(I Corinthians 15:1-8)

2…. that the Bible is the inspired word of God-a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.
(II Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105)

3…. that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
(Romans 3:23)

4…. that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who accept Jesus Christ  as Savior and Lord.
(John 3:16; Mark 16:15,16)

5…. that those accepting Christ need to repent of their sins, confess their faith in Jesus, and be baptized (immersed) into him.
(Acts 2:37,38; Romans 6:3,4;10:9,10; Galatians 3:26,27, Acts 8:26-39)

6…. that the Church is the family of God on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.
(Matthew 16:16-18, Ephesians 4:11-16)

7…. that every member is a minister, entrusted with gifts from Christ that are to be used to build up His Church on earth.
(Romans 12:3-8; I Peter 4:10,11)

8…. that Jesus gave us the Lord Supper to remember His death and His return. Therefore, like the early church, we partake of this remembrance on a weekly basis.
(I Corinthians 11:23-32; Acts 20:7, Acts 2:42)

9…. that the Bible teaches that the local church is to be governed by a plurality of godly leaders called elders who are entrusted with the task of shepherding the church of Christ.
(I Peter 5:2,3; Acts 20:28; I Timothy 3:1-13)

10…. that Jesus Christ will one day return for His Church and that mankind will then stand before the judgement seat of God.
(I Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; Acts17:31; Hebrews 9:27)
